Can we really expect the moderator to weed the crap schools/accreditors out? Well, maybe we can, if it's ShotoJuku! Still, it's quite a job and certain members will likely be ticked off...

Wait a minute -- maybe then the ticked-off contingent will depart! Yeah, let the moderators decide! If they do it right, we get rid of some pests! If they're wrong, we've got somebody to blame!!

Maybe it could be set up so that the school can't be posted until it says something in the accreditation field ... and maybe there needs to be a second accreditation field specifying who recognizes the accreditor.

I think it might be a good idea to provide a workflow that requires the approval of a senior member or a delegate to approve general additions. This way these contributions could be critiqued before being allow visibility to the general community.

It could be as simple as a field only approvers could see say "Approved" with the date(and maybe the members name).

Just a thought to mitigate the issues the two of you have already presented.

Default Sounds like a plan!

Hi

As usual - good s***estion Cklapka! I think that would definitely work.

Now, before anyone steps on me, I've said before that I'm NOT against all unaccredited schools - it's OK as long as they're honest and up-front about it. What I AM against is pretty well ALL schools that claim accreditation from some bogus outfit, selling endorsement that isn't worth ANYTHING.

Johann

I want to thank everyone for the excellent feedback. In response, we've launched a search box that can be found at www.degree.net - in addition, we've developed an International Page found at www.degree.net/international-online-degrees.html. Take a look!

Is there a way for members to submit new schools?

That would be a bit more difficult to manage, but we are looking at some solutions.

It would be nice to have a form that people could fill out to report inaccuracies in listings (i.e. a college listed as online no residency actually has 30 credit hours on campus residency) for your review.

I would like to see the contact us page working! (I get: Yo! An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator.)

Cool Movies Videos and more

Hi Kyle.

I been searching for ages for a VIDEO that explains about distant learning show examples and direct me through the process and student loans.

But all I get this boring articles and people asking for my phone number.

I just want to see the process of earning a degree in 20min video.

I am sure if you publish it you will get many of hits on Youtube or other sites.

But it demands some work.

Anyways Love degree.net website great list of schools Love the forum johann Number one posting and research ! you guys really know what you doing.

Hope to see degree.net improve.

I am more interested right now in student loans, but too many companies to choose from and I am sure many of them a rip offs.

For each school listed would it be possible to add a linked thread? Student reviews - that kind of thing?
