A lot can be said about this issue.

However:

1. Accrediation is a voluntary process, but it gives your degree credibility, and enables you to use it for further education, as well as employment, without "ugly questions" being asked

2. Point 1 assumes NA or RA accrediation

3. Accrediation is not equal with quality. Non-accredited institutions can provide just as good curriculums and education as accredited institutions. However; degress from these institutions have limited usage for further education, as well as employment

4. Accrediation is a lot about money, and a lot of individuals have made a hobby out of harassing other individuals that do not adhere to their interpretation of "accrediation reality". Say no more.

Accredetation is very important whether Distance Learning or in class. It is the measurement of quality education in the world.
