Always make sure that whatever school you are choosing is accredited through the agencies associated with the Department of Education.

There are too many online schools (or as I like to call them - Virtual Universities) that offer degrees; however, these are fake and if an employer checks into the "degree" it will most likely boot you from any chance of consideration.

I am in the business of checking references and have had way to many people who claim to have a degree only to find out it is from one of these Virtual Universities who claim to be accredited but those accreditations are also through Virtual Accreditation Agencies.

Buyer beware is the best course of action in this instance.

Indeed you may be right, I wonder if those testimonials posted on sites are real

Default We don't need this....

Jessica -

We don't need ****** or LEVITRA salespeople in the forum. Doubtless your post will get the boot shortly!

Matthew -

Holy Cow - have you READ that "blog" you linked to? It's pretend-English NONSENSE AND GIBBERISH that is NOT written by a human - it comes out of a MACHINE - talks about "flinging" distance ed. courses, "Pauperization" of degrees, Bachelor-at-Arms degrees, Lord's Degrees and other complete rubbish!

It makes NO SENSE whatsoever - why are you bothering with it? Specifically, why are you bothering US with it? Oh--I get it! You OWN it!

Johann

A buddy of mine went to UoP (actual classroom) for about a year, then dropped out and transferred to Chapman University (again, B&M). Never said why, but has discouraged anyone from going to UoP.

Lately, though, I've read a few not quite so wonderful things about UoP on the online degree review forums, etc. Apparently there's a lot of group work that people slack off and push on others, not to mention grade inflation to keep federal financial aid flowing. Not to mention supposedly easy coursework.

Me? I'm steering clear of most of this. Right now trying to get an AS with COSC done; debating whether to stay with them or transfer to TESC for the Bachelor's.

Default Devry/Keller is some place to get experience

Who ever is looking to join Devry/Keller's online program please donot think of that, there system is extremely complex, no help for Students, all they are doing is making money for Degree.I should say NCA or the educational authorities should cancel there Affiliation and accredential at least for online courses offered.

I paid $1267+ to a collection agency to get Rid of the charges posted to my public record. I dropped the course because there system is very difficult teacher ( Mark Revel) not helpful at all, no system to notify a student about online course activities, Tree layout discussion forum with no sorting and searching a collection of text impossible to read and traverse, posting of result is too late for a person to decide to drop. they know all ways to make money.

Professor Mark Revel worst teacher i met in last 22 years of my educational experience

Advisor Stephen Mitchell - Sweetest Lier on planet.
Paul Harry (In Collection) Nice person sympathizing but cannot help.

Wish they should themselves have taken this online degree courses or there kids should.

Who ever ate this $1200.00 of my hard earned money I pray from my heart they and there kids die spitting blood with no one to help them as well.

Read more about this on other websites as well.

Student ID at Devry : D02833651.

You should extend this survey to universities outside America. For example you can study anywhere for a distance degree from a fully accredited PhD with a government university in India for less than US$300 a year. I got a magna *** laude doctorate in Germany (I wrote it in English) for no fee at all (just 100 copies of my dissertation). London University and the University of South Africa have excellent distance programs. I am involved in MBA, MA and BBA online courses at an Australian university. Our students are spread across all continents.

Since each of us (probably) has very limited personal experience with more than one or two online schools I personally think this poll has limited value.

If you are "invested" in a degree program at a certain school and you don' think it's a good school then you're probably wondering about throwing good money after bad. On the other hand, how can you quit now with graduation so close? (Please, God!)

So in answer to your poll, "MY school is best" and I vote for MY school, having limited or no knowledge about most other schools. (I attend an online university with a brick and mortar campus less than 5 minutes form my office. Easy to register and talk to counselors! That, accreditation, and costs are major reason for going there.)

MY SCHOOL! MY SCHOOL! MY SCHOOL!
