Default More categories at online degree forum?

I've briefly discussed this with Kyle before. Personally I would like to see a few more categories at this forum. I would belive such a move would attract even more posters to the forum. Out of curiosity it would be nice to establish if I am the only one who feels this way

Under Other (Please Specify), one might include some category like "Credit by Examination" or "AP/CLEP/DANTES/ECE/GRE/TECEP/Etc." or "Testing Out Procedures" or whatever you wish to call it.

Default Another one....

Another category could be "Valuable unaccredited schools", or something similar. A poster at another forum recently s***ested such a thread as a sticky, but was promptly turned down by the "RA or the highway" posters.

As Dennis has commented several times: ALL accredited schools were at one time unaccredited. Therefore it is no reason to automatically dismiss any unaccredited schools as a mill or "millish".

It could be beneficial with a structured overview over unaccredited schools that are promising suppliers of education, and/or have been providing - based on testimony - "valuabe" educational outputs over time.

I think the reason that the proposed "Valuable Unaccredited Schools" sticky or sub-forum or whatever got turned down over at the other board is that it would be too easy for it to be converted into a place for shills to post their mills. Consequently, if one was to do a separate sub-forum or even just a sticky thread on valuable unaccredited schools, it would have to be very closely moderated. And, in all fairness to Kizmet, I believe it was s***ested that, if there was a question about whether there was any value in a particuilar unaccredited school, such could be asked on their already-existing unaccredited schools sub-forum.

I see your points.... I dismiss my proposal.

I'm not saying to dismiss the proposal ... I'm merely saying to implemnent precautions with the proposed Valuable Unaccredited Schools sub-forum that would prevent it from degenerating into a means for shills to sell their mills. The older Bears' Guides used to list several situations in which an unaccredited degree could still be valuable, though many of Dr. Bear's followers now self-righteously attack people over their degree choices.
