Given the great disparity in different variables related to education, it could be interesting to know what is the prevailing work attitude among those obtaining on-line degrees

Well I will admit there were times, right at the end of my masters and my undergraduate degrees that I did not take the time and actually focus on my work. Those very last semesters or 8 weeks, can be tough because you know you are almost done and you can breathe a sigh of relief that you made it through.

I have always looked at going to college as something I am investing my time and money in so I might as well do the best I can, the absolute best and nothing less.

Of course I see some students that I instruct who could care less about the content, they just want that piece of paper and could care less if they get A's or B's, in fact I often hear some students say as long as they pass they could care less. While this is not the attitude to have, I will admit that I did have this attitude during a very difficult class and instructor I had at one point.

But I made it through the class and ended up with a B!

I think the poor attitudes are prevalent whether online or in the traditional classrooms.

I agree and as you stated at the end of your post this is a psychological thing and happens regardless of the mechanism that one is taught by.

I should also say it probably depends on the course, regardless of the amount of time that remains for the degree, if one enjoys the material then one will work more diligently one learning the information. If one dislikes the material then less effort will probably be expended during the course.
