I have about 80 college credits from various colleges and I would like to finish my Bachelors degree so that I can get a job teaching English overseas. I'd like to know if people with online degrees have a good track record of land jobs teaching English overseas. I'm leaning towards teaching in South Korea since that country seems to pay the best. But I'm also open to teaching in Japan, Thailand or other Asian countries.

No one knows or cares where it comes from, over even if it's real depending on the country. (Taiwan and South Korea WILL check if it's accredited) Here, for example, (China) you can just print your own and no one knows or cares. So my advice... just get a legit (any org) accredited "whatever degree" (no one cares what it is in) and you'll be good.

You don't necessarily need a degree to teach. If you plan to teach as a professional the more education you have the better. A TESL certificate and a post secondary diploma will get your foot it the door. If you are seeking a
degree for a one time experience make sure that your degree is marketable at home as well. Last edited by SKYBIRD : 10-29-2009 at 07:43 PM. Reason: neatness was missing |
