Russian Federation
Recognized Universities The list of the recognized (accredited) universities has been composed on the data presented by the Department of Licensing, Accreditation, and Attestation of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. The list contains core information on the listed HE institutions. In this interpretation, but in English translation accompanied by Latin transcription of the names of the universities, the list is being systematically renewed and presented by the Center to the International Universities Association for its further placement in the World Higher Education Database of recognized universities. http://www.russianenic.ru/english/cred/ |

One more addition to the existing UK links is the
http://www.accreditedqualifications.org.uk/index.aspx In UK there are qualifications that can be earned at University or Institute level and also via other providers. The qualifications are on National Qualifications Framework so every one can understand the level of the given qualification. As we know there are 8 levels in NQF. Levels 4 and above are Higher Learning and have Academic standing equal to university education. Level 6 is usually at Honors Degree Level 7 is at Masters Degree etc. The following database lists all the accredited awarding bodies and their awards with corresponding levels. http://www.accreditedqualifications.org.uk/index.aspx |

I don't think there is exact equivalent because unlike in UK in USA there is no exit point after 3 years of university.
HND a level 5 on UK NQF is 2 year FT UK university = approximately to US 3 years of University study. Based on the supplement transcript one can have it evaluated and maybe take some classes at TESC or EC etc and complete a Bachelors degree. I did seen once an evaluation of HND in Electrical Engineering as BEE degree. The transcript actually matched closely to one of the DETC accredited colleges that offered Bachelor of Engineering Technology. This depends on number of academic credit and classes one has on his supplement to the diploma. The Bachelor of Science degree offers a heavier concentration of courses in such areas as physics, chemistry, and other science courses. The Bachelor of Engineering Technology degree concentrates mainly on areas related to the major and practical hands-on training. Here is a link you can use. Level 2 = US High School Level 3 = US year 1 college or university Level 4 = US year 2 college or university - approximate AS degree. Level 5 = US Year 3 college or university - depends on # and type of academic credits, can be stretched in some rare cases to Bachelor of Technology etc. In General there is no known US equivalent. Level 6 = Bachelors degree from US college or university http://www.cityandguilds.com/annualr...006/guide.html Last edited by Baraban : 10-14-2008 at 08:33 AM. |
