Default AACSB Online - Part-Online - Distance - External and Limited Residency PhD or DBA

Hi, This is my first post here.

I am looking for help finding AACSB Online / Part-Online / Distance / External / Limited Residency PhD or DBA in Business.

Why AACSB Doctoral? Seeking a position in academia as a tenured professor in a Biz Dept.

Why Distance / External? I have a full time job, leaving a secure job is not something I am willing to undertake, not in this economy.

Thanks for your help

I think Grenoble has a distance learning program, where you have to make trips to France. AACSB has a bridge program where you can take courses if you have a doctorate that is not AACSB accredited:

You may want to do a search in their directory to see if you can find a program:
http://www.aacsb.edu/accreditation/A...tedMembers.asp

The University of Strathclyde in the UK has a doctorate via research:
http://www.strath.ac.uk/business/research/

The University of Manchester:

There was to be a short residency University of Florida doctorate but its on hold. You may want to inquire with them to see. Have you thought about pursuing an AACSB accredited MBA if you do not already have one? The reason why there are almost next to 0 distance learning AACSB doctorate programs in the US, is because the organization prefers one to spend some time at the actual university and being a full time researcher.

Thanks. I will investigate these. I have considered an MBA first, but if I can get into a PhD program right away without and MBA I will do so, since my ultimate goal is to gain the PhD then look for tenured positions.

Would they look down at non-full time PhD's like the ones from Manchester, Strathclyde, Grenoble, Aston, etc?

Are you trying to work in the US? The UK universities would probably be your best bet to try to enter without a masters degree. Keep in mind that some American universities, prefer a candidate with a masters and a doctorate, especially if your masters is in one of the hard to fill tenure track positions (finance, accounting, and economics). In fact you could probably land some online teaching gigs easily with a masters in either one of those fields.

The universities I mentioned are all AACSB accredited, you would want to mention this on your resume, if you obtained a doctorate from any of these schools, when applying for tenure track positions. Being that they are AACSB accredited I do not see how they can be looked down upon when applying for positions, but academia is a very snobby field, so it would depend on the university you are applying to.

Thanks. Yes, I'm looking at working in the US.
I figured I could save 3 years (that I would need for the MBA) and get right to the PhD since my goal is to get a PhD. I also will save a lot of money this way. Does this logic make sense, or am I missing something?

huge differentials apply for non-EU students at UK universities, Ex around UK£10.000 per year in Arts compared to UK£3300 for EU citizens. Although many UK universities set 2 years MINIMUM enrollment for a Ph.D, most expect you to stay enrolled for the full 4 ones.
In order to bypass the MA stage, you must qualify with a BA degree matching UK high honors standard AND most Ph.D applicants without a MA are admitted to M.Phil first and upgraded if progress is successful.
