Thumbs down Herzing College-Bachelors Degree Homeland Security/ Public Safety

Hey Everyone-

I figured I would tell about my experience with Herzing College..... and hopefully people will take this serious.

Herzing College is a waste of your money, I will be graduating this year with a Bachelors Degree in Homeland Security and Public Safety, and from what I have seen over the 3 years of attending this college, is the unprofessional teachers, the cost to go to the college.

The classes all seem like they were made up the night before. I have never had such bad experience with teachers than I have at Herzing College.

I know most of the other students in my class, will defianlty agree with me on all of the above statements. I go to the campus at Herzing College, and I will continue to tell people to look elsewhere.

After I graduate and find a police job, I will be attending another college, just so I can have that college to fall back on instead of Herzing College.
They are all about money...... teachers are horrible, classes are just not educational..... Why I stuck through it for 3 years, beats the heck out of me

Good Luck To Anyone.... need any answers/questions.... let me know

Try American Military University. It will cost you $30,000 for all 120 credits and it's a lot better school than Kaplan and includes books. A list of their degree programs including legal studies:

http://www.amu.apus.edu/Academics/De...rams/index.htm

The absolute cheapest is DETC accredited Penn Foster College. It will run you not much over $10,000. DETC accreditation is accepted by the federal government but many state governments and regionally accredited schools might not recognize it. They offer a criminal justice BA.

There are dozens of other schools that advertize a lot less and are cheaper than Kaplan.

American Military University offers the same programs under the name American Public University but in the fields you're talking about AMU sounds more desirable.

It means that apparently, the thread starter, greatlake08, didn't do his/her research before he/she enrolled and now he/she's complaining that the school is "too expensive." How expensive is "too expensive" for a school? Does this guy/gal think that school is supposed to be free? This greatlake08 person signed the enrollment agreement. Why did he/she do so if he/she thought it was "too expensive"?

And what would make you think that you're going to get a job based on your degree if you think the school is a worthless piece of garbage? Hmm.

Very valid point! If you don't respect your degree, why should an employer?

Having bad instructors and terrible course material is something that we will all encounter in our academic careers. I attended a brick and mortar campus for my 2 bachelor degrees and there were times when I felt wow, how did that person get hired. My mom is attending a course at the local community college, and they are on week 13 and still have not received work from week 5 back yet. A person gets what they can out of their personal educational experience, what may be bad to you, may have been excellent for someone else. While you are wishing you probably had of left a long time ago, something had to have kept you there. Just my 2 cents!

Hi, I'm a newbie but recently been researching schools since I will be transferring from community college (SBCC) to a 4 year school for my degree. I researched the top 10 (on one site at least) and came across this school. It isn't in my interest but thought I'd share the info anyway. HTH.

The fields are Homeland Security, Terrorism etc.
