I have been studying with Tripp Bible Institute for about 2 years now and have never regretted it. The lessons are easy to understand and work to increase your biblical knowledge in a systematic way.

Do you know how transferable the credits are? There is a bible college not far from my home, but it would be nice to get a jump start on classes before having to go to the campus.
I'll try to call, but wanted to know your experience.

I'm not sure about transferring credits. It's probably a school by school senario as far as their policies go. In some states it's not a problem, but others they may only allow a very limited number of credits to transfer if any at all.

That's very true, and I knew that if I had just allowed my brain to catch up with me. You always start with a counselor at the school you want to transfer TO so that you don't end up taking a bunch of classes you don't need or can't use anyway.

Hi -
I wouldn't ever knock Tripp or ANY Bible College that taught with sincerity of purpose. If their teaching style, their knowledge and the beliefs they espouse suit you, then they're a good choice.
As Tripp (and other religious schools) rightly say, accreditation is voluntary and many schools of that type choose not to be accredited. That is their right - and does not reflect badly on the individual school in any way, imo. Others, like Tripp, have accreditation not recognized by CHEA. For Bible Study, that certainly doesn't mean it's a bad school, either. And Nations University, (unaccredited) mentioned elsewhere www.nationsu.org has an excellent reputation for its academic rigor. "Tough as nails," some say!
That said, you should be aware of the limitations. A degree from Tripp won't be very useful for employment (except possibly church-related, if your denom. likes the school) and won't get you far in the secular college world. I'd figure very limited if any credit from Tripp studies will transfer into an accredited program elsewhere.
Tripp's acceptance policy concerning credits you've earned elsewhere appears very generous. Just don't expect accredited institutions to reciprocate freely.
Whatever the limitations, I certainly have no quarrel with someone choosing Tripp. It's VERY reasonably priced, and if an unaccredited religious degree is what you want to attain - and I have no problem with that at all - then go for it. If you decide you'd rather earn a religious degree with CHEA-recognized accreditation, have a look at TRACS-accredited schools. I have, but sadly, there seems to be not very much distance-learning available from TRACS schools. Maybe that's changing.
Their site is www.tracs.org
Also, see this degreeboard thread on Tripp, for more opinions and one graduate's account of his Tripp experience.

Whatever you decide, I wish you every success. :-)

I have enjoyed studying under Tripp Bible Institute. I have earned my Master in Christian Counseling from this Institute and I am awaiting my conferment of my Doctorate in Christian Counseling. Tripp Bible Institute has a wonderful Chaplaincy Program leading all the way to Doctorate in Chaplaincy. It is an accredited institution. There is also an other Christian Institute that is even more perfect for those who have little money or even none the name of the Institute is Trinity School of Apologetics and Theology. The following web sight is provided www.TrinityTheology.org. I am currently taking the Post Graduate Diploma Progam in Apologetics. This particular school is accredited by their nation government.
