Back in 2004, the GAO issued the report on diploma mills. I think this report is filled with mistakes; there is no clear goal, nor research methodology. They surfed around the web looking for information; anyone knows the web is filled with rubbish. For instance, they see PWU CA as a diploma mill where one buys a degree for $2600. But these prices did not apply to PWU Ca at that time (they did the 'research from 2003 to 2004) but to the closed by course order PWU-HI, and PWU CA never gave up degrees for life experience. What do you think?

The GAO report was poorly done. California Coast University was lumped in with some other schools even though it was a candidate for accreditation which it received not long after the report was issued. The only criticism was that although unaccredited the government paid for individual courses as training which the student then pieced together for a degree. Apparently they were happy to pay for training that did not lead to a degree. Strange?
