I attended the University of Phoenix for my AAS in Health care Administration. I ended up withdrawing with 30 credits and 30 to go. I quit due to personal reasons. I have considered going back but I hear very negative things about it and it is really expensive. I have 8k in student loans to verify this!
Anyways, I am wanting to go back to school online, I have 3 kids, so a campus school isn't much of an option.
My question, living in Tennessee do I need/have to go to a RA school for the south. Does it need to be SACS accredited or can I go to a school that is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association.
I hope this makes sense. I am wanting to get my BS in Social Sciences.
Thanks for any help!

I have not heard of an instance where one of the regional accreditors is preferred to the exclusion of others. I think such a thing would be extremely uncommon if not non-existent.

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) can be a limiting degree, especially in terms of transferring your 30 credits to another college. A great online school is Excelsior College, however, I am not sure if Excelsior will accept University of Phoenix credits.
Option 1 complete the AAS at Phoenix, Option 2 may be to accept the 30 credits and $8k as lost and move on to an Online RA School.
Another great online school is Capella University.

Excelsior will definitely accept UofP credits. Excelsior is a great option...

Christy - There's no need to go to a SACS school (but a SACS school is OK). Any RA school will accept your credits. Stay frosty. X

Are you sure about that? I was under the impression they only except RA credits, and I believe Phoenix is NA.

University of Phoenix is RA, they are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. Of course this does not mean that a university has to accept any other university's credits, thats solely up to that particular university.
