Is there any recourse for those scammed by a diploma mill? An aunt just told me she got a degree from one and is upset.

Unfortunately like most things, it's "buyer beware." You can write a letter to your state's attorney general and they will look into it for you. And file a complaint with the BBB. Also, there are sites online that you can register your complaint. She might not see any of her money, but all that ranting is sure to make her feel better - especially if the AG gets on them!

Hi, just for curiousity, how much money did she wast to the worthless degree and it would help others to know which university or college it was?

The tips the other poster posted are good ones. Unfortunately, when dealing with online schools you need to really do your homework. I know too many people who have been scammed, unfortunately not much you can do in the end :(

Please let us not call these organizations "on line schools" because they are not. I think we do the entire field of distance and on line learning a lot of harm by this reference.
