I hope mine makes the 1000th post. :p
Hey, is there any way the spam posts can be blocked? Its a nuisance to see someone who just walks in, posts an ad and then disappears. Any way this can be stopped??? I hope the answer is YES.

There is no really way to fight spam except delete each post manually, its annoying but if you want to build a community you will have to keep up with the spam guys.

I understand them they want traffic to their site as much as I do.

We rock! So many posts, super cool. Spam is a big pain in the butt. Does anyone actually click on those links??

Wow, 1000 posts!! Congrats! I can only imagine how annoying spam has to be, especially having to sit and weed through it to delete them.

LyricB~ I've clicked only to post to them to go away (like that will work:rolleyes:  lol sometimes I just get irritated with them)-- I saw some nassstty pictures. I've never clicked on the actual link inside of the spammers post though.

Is there an easy way to recognise spammers at first sight? How would I know the post I am reading is from a spammer? So far, I have come upon genuine subject related posts on this forum. Am I missing something?

I am still wondering how you grade someone as a spammer. Would you call someone who logs in, posts some material and then doesnt come back to answer to any related queries as a spammer??? If yes, can we say that USDA is a spammer, because the general chat section is filled with threads linking to USDA materials. But, I hope not. Because I like the links supplied. They are very informative, infact aiding us in our online education:)
