View Full Version : Cheating | How to cheat Online degree or distant learning
I hope this doesn't come across as a stupid question, but I have been wondering this for a while now-- how easy is it for students of an online school to basically take their tests open-book? How does the school make sure that this doesn't happen? Or is it all just basically based on the honor system? I can't see how they can control cheating when they aren't physically there watching you??
How easy is it to cheat online !
SUPER EASY !
Well I know a person which is studying for 10 people business administration he takes 10,000 USD per year :) and he finish it in 2 years all graduate with a 3.0-3.6 GPA :)
I wander how long it will take Phenioex university to cache up on the guy :)
But that is just one thing most projects that are given to write a 20 pages paper on a subject, Now i am talking about off line colleges, student buy them online from hundreds of companies that offer custom assays. for 12 bucks per page sounds like education made easy for the rich people?
If you want to cheat you will always find away.
I know professor which paid somone to write "His research" on memory which earned him his PhD. he received his researched after 3 month, and submitted the paper 3 years later ! he was awarded his PhD degree by a very respectable state University.
and the moron is bragin about it instead of keeping his mouth shut !
It reminds me of a albert Einstein saying !
" If 'A' is a success in life. then A = X + Y + Z
X = Work
Y = Learn
Z = Keep your mouth shut ! "

I like that. This would be a much better place if more people would keep their mouthes shut.
As for cheating, you can cheat anywhere at anytime if you are determined enought. But if people would spend half the time on real work that they spend on figuring ways to cheat they wouldn't need to cheat.

My school, for example makes you show id when you go to the test center. But it's an online community college. I do know, though, that they have a proxy program, but I'm not sure how that works.
It's amazing to me that they don't catch people like that guy! I wonder if they don't care...

We had open book test and then we had proctored exams which were monitored by people and cameras. Cheating wasn't an option for me, not that I would have done it either way. I have a seriously guilty bone somewhere deep inside of me.

My school uses WebCt, and for courses that do require a proctor, the proctor has to have an advanced degree or serve as an educational officer at a military or government installation. They have to supply up to date CVs and after a extensive background check they are granted approval to serve as a proctor. Exams are sent directly to the proctors organization via priority mail and the proctor makes sure all stated time limits are followed and basically everything is by the book. My school even puts out a list of pre-approved proctors located near the student for individuals that can't find a qualified proctor.
I guess there will always be individuals that will try to take the easy way out, and thats why essay companies as discussed in earlier threads seem to be thriving but chances are if you cheat in this day and age it will catch up to you in some form or another.

I never really understood the reasoning behind cheating. Especially if you are taking a class that you need for your future career. I mean you do need to know this information. And tests make sure of that.

I totally agre with you tater and not only that but the money behind the education would motivate me not to blow it over something stupid. If you don't know the material seek help if you are not interested in the class find another on or suck it up until it's done. If you know that you are bound to cheat just keep your money in your pocket and pick out which lower wage profession is right for you.
Although my husband doesn't even have a high school diploma and he earns pretty much everything we need with his job so hey maybe you can get lucky and find a trade to get into for the rest of your natural life.

I don't get it either except to say that some people are lazy. They look for the easy way out, even if it's detrimental to them in the long run. It's a shame, but I'd say a lot of people are like that.
I'm with all of you on the cheating. I never understood why people would.
Then they go to work in the real world with their degree that was gotten via cheating their way through life and look like a total idiot. Karma. ;)
I could/would never take the cheating way out and can't imagine other people doing so.
It really makes you wonder how these people wouldn't get caught. I'm with Karenlyn, it really has to make you wonder if they care. :confused:

At my school they make me take proctored exams with paid proctors who are bound to check ID and ensure that I don't cheat. For my papers, while it might be possible to cheat, I find it much more stimulating to think than to let someone else take my money and to the thinking for me. I think cheaters will have a very hard time of it indeed once they hit the real world and don't have anyone to do their innovation for them (unless their salesmen - no offense to the honest salesman).
