Hello, all!! I'm not sure if this is posted in the right place, but here it goes.I'm looking for a master's program in Intelligence Studies/Military History/Criminal Justice and have been considering doing it online.I WAS looking at UOP before I found out the problems many people have had and are having with them.I've done some inquiries at another institution that has a similar"fill out the handy online form and you're in"sort of approach and was wondering if the similar approach to UOP should be a warning flag. The institution in question has DETC accreditation and seems to be heavily geared to military personnel both current and retired.Should I still seriously consider this place,or are there any others that someone might recommend? Thanks!!

American Military University? It's now regionally accredited and a decent choice. Their alternate name - American Public University - sucks. School is OK, name sucks.

Thank you to those that replied.Does anyone know of a program that does not have a residency requirement?Norwich looks good(and I'll definitely request info from them),but I'd like another choice via the non-residency route. Thanks once more..

While residency is a impediment for certain programs, I believe Norwich is designed to be at the end to the program. I may be mistaken but when I looked into them I was under the impression that it came basically during the week of graduation.
This seems like something, if the rest of the program works, would be easier than say one at the beginning or middle of the program where costs would be hard to justify. At the end you know it is a final expense and that you will be graduating soon.
This may still be too much for some but I just thought I would throw in my thoughts on the residency issues in regards to Norwich.
Good luck with what ever you decide is the best fit.

Norwich is an excellent choice. American Military U. is a good choice and requires no in-person attendence.

Austin Peay State University offers a nice MA in Military History (http://www.apsu.edu/cogs/current/degrees/mil_history.htm) online. Out-of-state tuition is expensive.
