Well, you can't beat the price for sure! But if you are looking for serious study, I don't think you will find it here. Certainly not in the Counseling program at least. I think there are other choices out there, a bit, but not much more demanding.

Hi -

I've nothing against any school mentioned in this thread - Mt. Carmel, Tripp or St. James, but how is Tripp (recommended by PeterHC for "more serious" study) in a different category? Tripp accepts Mt. Carmel credits (according to Mt. Carmel website) so wouldn't both schools be equivalent?

One thing in Mt. Carmel's favour - I believe they're the only one of these three religion-oriented schools to offer ANY training in Biblical languages; they have basic Greek and Hebrew in the Master's program and I believe our member Larryjf reported that they are expanding the language programs.

From my viewpoint, such studies are essential in religious higher education, but maybe that's just me. Anyway, all three schools seem sincere in their purpose and my good wishes go to each of them - but Mt. Carmel would be my personal pick for the above reason - and the fact that their on-line library links are excellent doesn't hurt, either! :-)

Thank you Johann, and we did expand our language studies.

Instead of defending Mt. Carmel (since i am involved with it) i will link to a few of the course requirements in the theology department, then folks can see for themselves a little more clearly what is expected...
