There seems to be lots of references to/discussions of the best accredited schools, including the illustrious Bear's 100 Best ... , but very little about unaccredited schools, although Bear states that non-accreditation does not mean that a school is bad (per contra, many unaccredited schools are bad). There seems to be a need for such a reference. Or perhaps I simply don't know of it. Does any have such a reference, book or online, or perhaps an extensive article, on the best unaccredited schools?

It occurs to me John Bear would have such a list if anyone does, judging by your own reasoning. Maybe the question should be put to him? Maybe clarification on what he means that many unaccredited schools are bad viz the percentage that are good.
I don't think anyone is more capable of defending that argument better than its author, IMHO.

I never thought of that, I'd say the best unaccredited schools are schools that provide courses instead of a diploma. which gives you legal certification without the hassle of fraud. I hardly know any employers that check courses, But then again. Never gave it much thought I sure would like to hear what John Bear would say about " The best unaccredited school " after researching 2000 of them I am sure he fond one professional and cheap.
Well lets hope JB will be online soon.

Whether or not accreditation is important would depend on what you are looking for - IMO. There are so many accrediting agencies out there that it would make me wonder why they weren't accredited. But if I was just going for my own benefit, I'd be more concerned about the class than the accreditation.

True, I guess the kewords were "own benefits." If it is for personal knowledge than it doesn't matter, but if you want to impress an employer, than he might be picky.

Well, and it seems to me that if you have a choice between an accredited school and an unaccredited one, you'd want to choose the accredited school. That's what accredation is there for, after all.
