I won't be able to see the live broadcast tonight but I will definitely watch the webcast tomorrow morning. I homeschool my kids and I know first hand that math and science are two very important subjects that many children are lacking behind in here in the US. I am always looking for new avenues to explore to further education my children.

I used to homeschool my son. When I was recovering from having the next son, my mom-in-law, a practicing 6th grade teacher, took over. I was appalled. She apparently never really got math, so she teaches it as "it's hard, don't try to understand the concepts, just memorize the tables or the steps."

I can believe we are behind in math if that is the status quo of how elementary kids are being taught -- learn how to get the right answer, not how to understand the concept.
