I go to a traditional state school but only take classes online. Anyone else do that? I like that I can take a brick and mortar class at any time and also that my transcripts make no mention of the class being online.

technoflutemom,

I'm doing the same thing trough Mountain State in Beckley and I think for an individual that has a family and other obligations there is no other way to go. I have found that the only difference between the courses I take online and through independent study is the fact that I do not have to drive to campus everyday and I can do my work where and when I like.

Are you going to Marshall? My husband received a lot of credit from Marshall when he was in the state police academy and he later transferred it to Mountain State and got his b.s in criminal justice.

Take care

May I ask how much credit did he receive for his experience?

I looked into MSU a while back and was surprised out how much they've grown and at their innovative programs. I remember when they were just little Beckley College!

I believe that MSU gave him almost 50 credits for his academy training and with that and his transfer credit he was done the program in a little over a year. I think all he had to take was the 33 credits of ADCJ core clsses that were required by MSU.

Technoflutemom,

MSU now has campuses in Orlando Florida, Martinsburg WV and in Houston Texas and it looks like they are going to keep getting bigger and better.

Take care
