I currently am attending Cameron University for a Masters in Entrepreneurial Studies. Cameron also has undergraduate and an MBA program. The school is in Lawton, OK, and has SACCS accreditation. Here are the links to the online programs

They seem to be really working at increasing their on-line presence! Are you an on-line student? I believe undergrad tuition is something like $837 a 3-credit course for non-residents. What's grad-school tuition like?

I am very happy at Cameron. All of the online graduate courses are 8 weeks long and are taught by phd level professors.

I am an online student and I pay around $861 per graduate course.

Hi,

I was originally in the MBA program but switched to the Masters of Entrepreneurial Studies program. Both progams has some of the same faculty members teaching courses.

It depends on the instructor when it came to coursework and exams. Some of the professors liked to give the standard quiz every week, then a midterm and a final. All the course utilize Blackboard and discussion board postings. The program chair for my current program likes to put the emphasis on a organizational study project, which you can work in groups to finish up. His midterm is also different in that you have 4 case study questions you answer.

As for support from faculty, when I have had to email faculty, I usually get a response the same day. Faculty always told us if they had conferences to attend and what their hours of availablity were during such conferences. I have had professors go to Asia and they still were on top of things! As for the staff, the best way to reach them is via email, and let them know if you are out of state from the beginning.

Class participation consists of group work in some courses and discussion board posts. Cameron operates on a weekly schedule, assignments are normally posted on Mondays and you have until Sunday to finish them up, some instructors do have a Saturday through Friday work week.

I have taken courses online since 99, at my local community college. I will say that I enjoy online courses, for the flexbility. Do not think that online courses are easier than being in class, you really have to get into a routine, I normally choose 2 days out of the week to work on course work and to turn everything in, normally before the weekends. My best advice is to get assignments done as quickly as you can, read over the syllabus to know what is expected of you, and if you have a question about anything, be sure to ask asap.

FYI: I enrolled classes; they start next week. With a non business First degree, I have to do some foundations first. From reviewing syllabus and first course, seem rigorous enough.

Congrats! If you have any questions about the program or anything, feel free to ping me on here, and I will glad to answer. I just finished up the coursework on my M.S. in Entrepreneurial Studies there and will take the 2nd part of the comp exam on the 26th of this month. Dr. Carraher (with the Entrepreneurial program) is the best professor Cameron has, but I must warn you....RUN!

I am so incredibly frustrated with them. The bad advice, bad professors...etc. They finally fired the MBA advisor. They say they cater to the military, dependents and online users. Well, I can tell you that is not true. If you are an online student, forget customer service OR good advice.

Hi I graduated from Cameron University and I have to agree with you taht Dr. Carraher is the best professor. The problem with Cameron is that their online division grew way too fast and the university did not have the infrastructure in place to handle the tremendous growth. Dr. Carraher once did a study and obtained feedback from current students, the biggest issue was the conflicting information between staff and the website. Overrall I would rate my experience at Cameron around a 7 or 8, but the conflicting information would lead to me to rate the customer service around a 4 or 5.

Everyone I have ever talked to there, were readily available to help, but one gets tired of the different information. Part of this is due to the high turnover among staff and faculty. Dr. Carraher once said that they were losing professors due to the pay and course load professors there have to maintain.
