Well Canadian and american's education "walk hand in hand"
did you go already on the list of the colleges at http://www.degree.net/Campus-Program/Search.html?By=bachelor ?
if not have a look there is tradional colleges also in the list if you are looking to immigrate to the U.S earning a bachelor degree gives you an automatic 4 years Visa + 1 year work permit.
If you find a job in that one year the employer just needs to fill up a forms and you will receive a Green Card for 3 years, IN ANY JOB !
After the 3 years you will receive a permanent green card.
But canadians have it easy in immigration issues to the U.S unlike the rest of the world :) better ask a lawyer

Hello HenryB
If you go the traditional route, try Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The cost of living is lower than Toronto and Vancouver, and there are two universities there that offer what you are looking for: McGill (the brand name one) and Concordia (the quality one).
Jobs will be difficult for a number of reasons, granted, but you can find on-campus work as a tutor, reader and other such small jobs. Also, the Career centres at both schools are top notch. If you rent housing off-campus you can find real deals (15 minutes away by bus) and the transit system is good.
The costs are considerably lower than average USA schools. And McGill has the reputation of Harvard - if brand name is important.
Good luck,
HK

I hadn't heard that Canadian degree programs were less expensive than in the U.S. IS this true? I thought that things were generally MORE expensive in Canada, not less.

Canada is cheaper but the degree has the same value. Canada holds a respectable education level.

Hi Kebrit -
I believe you'll find the fees are the same whether you live in Canada or not. You can check with Athabasca.
Not a cheap school by any means, but a VERY good one - and recognized as such outside of Canada, too.
It is WAY different from being a foreign student at a Canadian bricks-and-mortar University. Foreign students are very welcome on Canadian campuses, partly because the law allows schools to charge them 3 to 4 times the domestic tuition charge!!
Athabasca's fees more closely resemble what a Canadian student would pay on his home turf. :-)
