I wasn't sure about the "jungles of Liberia" - Thanks, Ham, for stimulating me to look this subject up. I thought its densest "jungle" might have been the pseudo-accreditation "jungle" that facilitated such entities as St. Regis and Robertstown "Universities". I understand the "guilty" verdicts are in now!

It turns out that yes, Liberia does indeed have rainforests - which have become severely depleted, by the usual methods (logging, clearance etc.)

It's good to look things up. I saw an absolutely loathsome discussion in another forum about "Why Africans don't/can't make cars" ... although there's at least one Mercedes plant.

Some less-informed wag s***ested one reason: "They can't get raw materials......e.g. rubber." Turns out that Liberia's No. 1 export is -- you guessed it - rubber!
