And here's another thread, listing the Alabama Department of Post-Secondary Education's many, many reasons for not renewing Breyer State's License!

After careful investigation I have determined that Breyer State University (BSU) is not a diploma mill, but is instead a legitimate privately accredit post secondary institution. Privately accredited colleges typically do not share the same level of prestige or academic acceptance as a Regionally or Nationally accredited college, but this does not necessarily mean the educational value received from a BSU degree is less than, or of poorer quality than what might be obtained from a CHEA accredited college. I really don’t see how anyone can in good faith compare BSU to a diploma mill. At this juncture in my college search I am seriously considering in enrolling in BSU’s Doctorate in Addiction Counseling Psychology program.

Since you are aware of potential limitations and are going in with your eyes wide open, good luck. People that don't understand the limitations and intend on using a BSU degree as a primary qualification can be a problem but the nanny state can't stop every individual from stepping in the only cow pie in the field.

Default Check the industry for a reality check

Again, if the industry in which you work doesn't recognize the degree you're pursuing, 'legality' means very little.

On the other hand, a Department of Post-secondary Education would absolutely qualify as an industry watchdog, so it sounds like you may be in the clear.

Remember, the word we're looking for is 'accreditation', not 'legal'.

I didn't say that they are accredited but we mustn't say that bsu is a mill.Because if you say that, you mean that all the unaccredited schools are mills, something wrong for me.that's all.

I understand your point. But, if you look at my post again, the words 'BSU' and 'mill' are nowhere to be found.

Actually, saying that BSU is a mill is not necessarily the same thing as saying that all unaccredited schools are mills.

BSU isn't a mill, so it's all good. I look at BSU as no different than self study in a library, with a nice certificate to hang on your wall.
