Yes, after a one-minute look at their site I think that's a fair comment.
What floors me is how they EVER got a .edu domain! They're at www.uofa.edu Who really cares, (except the "mill police") but weren't these guys previously known under some name? They're right there on the MICHIGAN UNACCREDITED LIST at http://www.michigan.gov/documents/No...ls_78090_7.pdf Johann |

That should be the first clue. Atlanta is in Georgia, not Alabama. If they are based in Alabama and calling themselves University of Atlanta, then it's most definitely a scam.

Hi -
I think we all agree about this ...er, "school" - University of Atlanta, strangely misplaced in Alabama. Yes, that location could have been our first clue... BUT - what about the respected and Regionally Accredited Indiana University of Pennsylvania (located in Pennsylvania, not Indiana!) Great school -- odd name. Can't say as much for University of Atlanta in Alabama, though! Cheers Johann |

NOW I remember!
I'm told Atlanta is basically a resurrection of the former Barrington University! Barrington is on on all the States' Lists - purveyors of B.S. degrees - and I DON'T mean Bachelor of Science!! Would that General Sherman were alive! What he could do with THIS "Atlanta" (so strangely located in Alabama!) Johann Last edited by johann : 11-19-2006 at 08:38 PM. |

He would burn BOTH Atlanta's (GA & AL) to the ground and then march to the sea!!

F.Y.I.
IUP is named after the city and county in which it is located very reputable school. There is also a California University of Pennsylvania and it is very reputable as well. Both have excellent online and distance programs and they accept federal financial aid. |

I appreciate the info. I knew the Indiana University of Pennsylvania was a good school. As I'm outside the U.S., I ask that you forgive me for never before having heard of the school you mentioned - in the Borough of California, State of Pennsylvania. One look at its website tells me this is also a very well-respected University! Thanks again!
