I know some colleges that automatically enroll you in your sequence of courses for a degree program. As for being in class a certain time, I know some online colleges that have a set week, so to speak. I know Kaplan does seminars where people have to be on time at a set hour or so, but not all classes requires this. As for contacting loan lenders, everytime I have had a student loan, I always receive paperwork about the details of the loan and address, etc... so it is up to the student to take care of themselves to some degree. Have fun at UOP, I have heard they have their share of problems also! |

I WAS WARNED! Yesterday, I was looking at online forensic/legal certification for RNs. I found the Kaplan site, asked them to send info., and THEN found this site. I thought that maybe after so many years of complaints that perhaps they had improved. (I always tend to try to put a positive spin on things.)
Today, my phone rang, and immediately the sales rep starts in with the high-pressure pitch. I asked her to please not call back until I am ready to consider their program (I was planning on taking it next fall) but she didn't stop talking, just kept giving the pitch. So, I hung up. The phone rang again, and I answered with,"Listen, I asked you not to call back-" she cut me off with,"No, YOU listen to ME-" I was in shock! Naturally, I hung up again. I can't in a million years imagine how they intend to enroll students with this type of attitude. Before the phone calls today, I was 50/50 about whether to enroll. I will obviously not consider Kaplan or any of their associated schools for any reason. Now I know that all of the horror stories are not exaggerations. |
