Default Non-CHEA-recognized accreditation.

Hi Tony -

I looked up IACBE - the accreditor at www.iacbe.org They are not CHEA-recognized, although they claim to be seeking this recognition. Only when and if they OBTAIN this recognition will International School of Business Management have anything recognized in the U.S. Although headquartered in the Netherlands, they specifically state they do NOT have any Dutch accreditation.

ISBM claims affiliation with the Montreal International School of Management and I could NOT find a web-page for such a school. Google enquiries found some people who were/had been professors at this school but zero for the school itself. I'm thinking it is/was just an office, more or less and no degree courses for Canadians. Canadian authorities would have likely been on-the-spot quite quickly if they'd actually marketed degrees to Canadian students while not properly chartered as a Canadian University. There's nothing like "Alabama State Licences" up here!

In my search, I kept getting links to a confusing array of primarily distance schools in Bulgaria, Cyprus and Kazakhstan with English-language sites, that seem to be somehow affiliated with ISBM. One of them was either "Grine" or "Girne" University in Cyprus. They spelled it BOTH ways on the site! The English on some of these sites was of an abysmally low standard!

I'd say - if someone really LIKES this school - and I don't know why anyone would - then they might go ahead and earn a DIPLOMA from them - but in my view, it'd be a waste of money to pay them for a DEGREE! Any affiliation with Ansted is not exactly a feather in ISBM's cap, IMO.

Johann
