Default INDIAN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION (ISBM) recognization

Dear All,

Before a day, I have got an email from the INDIAN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION (ISBM) offering MBA Degree Fast Track Programme in just 6 months.

Its a distance learning course with 5 subjects. They will provide you with all study materials and after 6 months u can appear for exams at anytime. They said me its a degree programme. I am not much aware about this institute, so can any1 tell me about the degree awarded by this institution and its recognisation ?

You can browse their website by clicking here

Please reply me ASAP.

Thanking you in advance.

Regards,
Altaf

Default I'd stay away - here are good Indian alternatives.

Hi -

I just don't like the look of this one. India seems to be blossoming with unchartered "quickie" schools. Sharp (too sharp) entrepreneurs abound.

What I don't like is: no .ac domain, 6-month graduate degree, 5 courses. Apparently not government chartered but opened via a private foundation. The diploma states they're an IS0-2001 organization. This statement is meaningless as to academic quality and the only other uh.."campus" where I've seen it displayed was an outright mill somewhere in the Pacific, as I remember. I don't think this should appear on a diploma of ANY kind (ok - maybe on one for a course in Quality Control).

I don't like the "send photocopies of mark sheets" idea for admission either. The professional way is to have the school you attended send your transcript to the school you want admission to. I couldn't find the "Council of Distance Learning, India" on the web. (And I really tried!) Looks like it MAY be a private unrecognized accreditor, unless I hear differently. If it is unrecognized, it has no government authority.

If you want quality distance education in India, why not try www.ignou.ac.in or, alternatively, see what this page offers: http://www.indiaedu.com/distance-learning/india/

Johann

This school claims to be accredited by "Council of Distance Learning, India". I am from this country, and I know for sure that there is no such recognized agency in India. This school is definitely a phony one. Stay away from it.

For those seeking DL from India, please make sure that
(1)The school is properly accredited.

(2)Check the exam center - most Indian schools do not operate outside India .

(3)Check if the program is accepted back in your country. As a rule of thumb, the school should be a member of Association of Indian Universities(http://www.aiuweb.org/Members/MembersA.asp), though there are exceptions.

Default Thanks! Valuable info.

Hi, Msganti

It's good to have info on distance-learning in India from someone who lives there. Thanks for the web-link.

We seem to have quite a few posters from South Asia and no doubt your knowledge will be a good resource for them in the future.

Nice to have you join us!

Dear Altaf,

What you are saying its correct,I had log in to their website and found that they are providing Fast track courses which can be completed in a very short duration,

I visited their Andheri Branch and did an enquiry and found that they are not providing and Degree but they are providing certificate course basically for an experinced person,

The experience was great over there as they dont have any hidden charges as such like of the other universities and the councilors are very polite and honest about the recognition part.

They gave me all the proof that was required for confirmation and even the study material they have shown to me and that was really amazing experience over there.

I need to take admission over there but the only part was the recognition but I am satisfied that they are recognised with CODL and one more thing is that there are many people who give such wrong information without understanding what is it,

Thank you so much altaf for providing the information

Regards,
Sandeepa

Yes go up with Indira Gandhi University and then when u experience their hidden charges then you would come to know....

As my friends have gone thru and have passed up with many universities but now they are in a very big mess as they had to face many circumstances and universities can also be closed down,

But this ISBM is giving 100% placement from their side so there is no answer of cheating and they are lying fron 1992 so the placement may not be an issue to them.

My dear friend,I am not blaming you I am just telling my view as I have seen the institute,

Thanking You.

Regards,
Sandeepa

You are 100% correct msganti.

The findings of Johann are also valid. The word "SCAM" is written all over their website.

Dear Sandeepa, I respect your opinion about this Institute. But I s***est you beware if you plan to join or refer someone to this Institute.

Red face

Thanks for your reply,

I will again contact the concerned person who I had contacted for this course,

But I dont know how these people are getting recruited from this Institute I had taken some references also from the given prospectus and then crossverified with the help of my friends who are working in the same company,

Just I will clear my doubts by calling the concerned person and then I will tell what feed back I am getting from the companies,

Regards,
Sandeepa
