Im a high school dropout. I came across Continental Academy they claim to have an accreditation by SACS & CASI.

I search SACS website but can not find any report of the being accredited, could someone post the link to their report?

Try contacting SACS' office. The school is SACS accredited, well at least a year ago it was, I inquired with SACS due to a family member who wanted to earn their high school diploma with them.

I did a search here and was able to find them:

My cousin has their HS diploma and he was accepted to NYU.
H earned their diploma in 2008.
Took the EAGLE program.
He didn't get any transfer credit for his overseas schooling so he took all the 18 classes and exams. Since he was working FT and had a new born baby he only allocated 1 hour a day.
I think in his case it took him 7 months. He knows people who did it much faster.

Post any questions you have and he will reply.

Another one, more expansive:

Accreditation
Faith Academy is a SACS and NCA-CASI accredited high school under CITA protocol.

http://www.faithaca.org/
I see some schools claim North Central and Southern Association accreditation.

CITA brings together these premier American educational accrediting agencies to promote accreditation and school quality:

Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools (MSACES) http://www.ces-msa.org/
North Central Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) http://ncacasi.org/
Southern Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) http://www.sacs.org/
Western Accrediting Commission for Schools (WASC) http://www.acswasc.org
National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA) http://www.ncpsa.org/
Council on Occupational Education (COE) http://www.council.org/

I've been looking into this school for awhile now, and I was wondering if they're accredited in California?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Continental Academy is accredited by SACS, which is a recognized department of education accreditor, so yes a high school diploma there would be recognized in California.

I found this on another site and this is best explanation so far.
Quote:

CITA is the Commission on International and Transregional Accreditation. It is a consortium of US accreditation agencies, including four of the six regional accreditors, plus the National Council on Private School Accreditation, plus the Council on Occupational Education.

The "T" in CITA stands for "Trans-regional": CITA accredits schools that operate in multiple regions of the US. For example, Faith Academy has campuses in both Georgia (which is SACS territory) and Iowa (which is NCA territory). But instead of dealing with both agencies separately (which would be a hassle), Faith Academy can get accredited in a single process through CITA. CITA accreditation is then accepted by SACS and NCA, since both are members of the CITA consortium.

The "I" in CITA stands for "International". The territory of the regional accreditation agencies is restricted to the US. But CITA can accredit schools in other countries. So foreign schools can get the equivalent of US regional accreditation through CITA, if they want it.
Continental Academy operates 2 schools, US school and international school for oversea students in other countries.

Instead of getting 2 different accreditations it goes under single consortium track that offers International and Regional accreditation.

The good news for you is that:

Western Association of Schools and Colleges - The regional accreditor of West USA. California is under WASC who is also in that consortium of the CITA.
So High School diploma from Continental Academy is recognized by WASC and if some day Continental Academy will open a school in the Western USA they can claim WASC accreditation via CITA protocol.
