It could also be the "Canterbury University" that the ODA speaks of here...

"Not associated with the legitimate New Zealand University of Canterbury nor the UK Canterbury Christ Church University or University of Kent at Canterbury."

In answer to your question, I have researched this school for a client, as I am a licensed investigator in New Jersey. In seeing your thread, I thought I would reply. After alleviating the Universities mentioned here, I continued my search. I must admit it wasn't easy. Time consuming and phone inquiries.

Yes, the Canterbury University in question was initially a business school founded in England in 1974 called "The Canterbury College of Business Studies." It offered correspondence courses as a private degree granting body. Since then, the laws have changed in England in 1988 regarding British Private Degree Granting Bodies. The name changed to Canterbury University, but the school was then registered in the Republic of Seychelles (islands in the Indian Ocean north of Madagascar) The school is compliant with the Seychelles legislation. For a time, Canterbury maintained a Graduates Services office at 193 Market St. Hyde, Cheshire, SK14 1HF England.
They are no longer there. The school was accredited by the United Congress of Colleges, based in Ireland. The reason you were unable to locate them is because they have since vanished from the "radar screen."
As from accounts I have obtained, Canterbury University issued dgrees based on professional/ experiential learning and prior study, acceptable in certain countries.
Hope this gives you some insight on the school.

Default Canterbury Univertsity

This was very much a real, accredited school when I graduated from Canterbury Univertsity in 2000. Not a degree/diploma mill and is not one of those "lifetime experience degree granting institutions".

Diploma Mills change address and look for some islands to relocate as other countries make it harder for the substandard and bogus entities to exist in their territories.

I heard about other Diploma Mills that moved their P.O mail forwarding service to Seychelles islands in the Indian Ocean and other islands in Indi.

Default Legitimate school

I cant vouch for anything since I moved from the U.K. to the United States in 2000, but I attended Canterbury University and can without a doubt guarantee that it is not a diploma mill. I am shocked to think that anyone would think that at all. I suppose a DEGREE could be forged by someone saying they'd attended when they didn't, but the university is legitimate and recognized by the U.S. Federal Government (or was when I was hired as a state department employee and had my background check conducted).
